AUGUST SCHEDULE

Monday/Saturday Specialty ClassesThese Monday and Saturday are basic classes that teach the nutritional value of whole grains and their importance to our daily diet. It can be a great beginner class or a great refresher class whatever fits into your lifestyle. They are classes that are not taught as often as some of our other classes. So look ahead on your calendar and plan on attending. We are looking forward to teaching all about the wonderful world of whole grain goodness. PIZZA AND CALZONES ON THE BARBEQUEFeaturing the Nutri-Mill and Bosch Mixer
Doesn’t it sound exciting to make America’s number one favorite food, outside on your barbeque grill? We’ll teach you the trick of baking some of our yummy Pizza and Calzone recipes right on the grill without heating the oven. If you haven’t been to our pizza class, you’re in for a real treat. We’ll make a delightful Deep Dish, as well as traditional Pizza, all homemade from whole grain pizza dough. Then we’ll make Calzones from the same soft dough. With school back in session we thought this class would be a great time to teach some lunchbox ideas besides the usual PB & J. We’ll start by making a simply delicious Chipotle Chicken Salad wrapped in a homemade Tortilla, and then make Parmesan Chicken Strips. This is a basic class on canning beans and meats for long-term storage. We will use the Kuhn Rikon Pressure Cookers as well as the bigger canners we sell here in the center. We’ll start with beans, such as, Pinto, Kidney etc. Then we’ll teach how very simple it is to pressure can chicken, beef and pork, you can even bottle fish if you desire. This class will fill up fast so plan ahead and sign up early. Come hungry and enjoy dinner with us made from canned products. |

LABOR DAY PICNIC CLASSFeaturing the Mill and Bosch and Pressure Cookers
We will be teaching the art of making Homemade Buns for hamburgers, hotdogs, or hoagie sandwiches. We’ll serve them with BBQ Beef and Baked Beans. Rustic breads have a hearty crust and a wonderfully moist interior. These fabulous breads will all be baked on a pizza stone to ensure the heavy crust that artisan breads are noted for. Some of the breads we will be teaching are Teff Ezekial Bread, Sunflower Polenta Bread, and Squaw Bread. We will also demonstrate all the wonderful Bosch attachments including the Slicer/Shredder when we make Ham & Cheese Roll-Ups. We are going to teach some fabulous fall soups to get you prepared for Autumn. Our hearty Bread Bowls are perfect for any get together and they freeze beautifully. Our Clam Chowder and NEW Southwest Potato Soup go wonderfully with the bread bowls. We’ll also let you try some of our favorite soups like Tortilla Soup and Minestrone. Don’t miss out. Chicken Pasta Salad with Cashews & Cranberries
Combine salad ingredients, top with dressing. Fold together. Let chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to marry together. Serve and enjoy! |
Grasshopper Mint Brownies
Combine all ingredients in Bosch with cookie paddles. Mix until creamy. Prepare a large cookie sheet with parchment liner. Pour in mixture. Bake 350° for 18-22 minutes or until toothpick come out clean. Cool Completely.
Combine and mix thoroughly the ingredients for each frosting. Frost Brownies first with mint frosting. Put into refrigerator for 10 minutes. Frost with chocolate frosting. Cut into squares and enjoy. |
